A boutique in an upscale neighborhood in Los Angeles has decided to take a proactive stance to protect its staff and store assets from mask-wearing criminals.
Fraser Ross, owner of the Kitson chain of stores, hung signs at his Beverly Grove branch that read: “Due to [the] safety of our staff and assets of [the] store, we do not allow the wearing of face masks.”
Including, of course, the masks used purportedly to curb the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) but are now considered another ineffective tool imposed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which has since backtracked on its impositions during the pandemic.
Ross explained the reasons for his action in a statement.
“At Kitson, we prioritize the safety of our staff and customers. We noticed a disturbing trend of individuals wearing masks to avoid identification in various situations including, but not limited to, shoplifting, verbal harassment and physical assault,” said Ross.
“The mask mandate may have begun as a health precaution, but we believe it is now being used by some people for nefarious purposes. To that end, we enacted our own mandate of sorts. We do not allow [the] wearing of masks in the Robertson store during regular business hours. Those people who wish to wear masks are free to set up an appointment for a person [sic] shopping experience or visit our website. We also offer curbside pickup.”
Ross told Fox News that he was speaking from personal experience as well as relaying the sentiments of his employees who have been subjected to violent acts such as “strangling, getting pepper-sprayed and being threatened with scissors” by masked individuals, who got away with the crimes because they were unrecognized. “They come in the store with a mask on,” Ross said. “You know they’ve got a bucket hat, a hoodie and a mask and you can’t see their eyes. In a lineup, you’d never be able to identify them.”
Ross wasn’t alone in his observation that masks have become catalysts for committing crimes. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), in fact, warned of an “increase in violent street robberies” in the area with most perpetrators hiding behind masks.
Unfortunately, face coverings have made life difficult for the police tasked with identifying and apprehending crooks as the latter can readily blend in with the public.
Recently, a mob of looters stormed a northern California Nordstrom store and ransacked it. Around 80 individuals, all masked supposedly to protect themselves against COVID, entered the store with crowbars and began grabbing anything and everything they could get their hands on.
Certainly, Ross has ample reason to fear that his boutique could be the next target. His move to forbid the wearing of masks just came at a time when they have been found to be of little health significance against COVID.
In fact, the CDC reversed its COVID guidelines on August 11, virtually admitting it erred in the implementation of such mandates as social distancing, compulsory vaccine injection and mask-wearing. Instead, the CDC is now espousing personal responsibility and junking its discriminatory rulings based on vaccination status. Likewise, the CDC admitted natural immunity exists and is effective against COVID.
In essence, Ross did what the CDC and the government should have done a long time ago: Ban the use of masks.
